The Manitoba Film & Sound Recording Development Corporation (Manitoba Film & Music/MFM), is a statutory corporation of government, funded by the Province of Manitoba through Manitoba Sport, Culture, Heritage and Tourism.

MFM is accepting applications for its newest team member and is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Film Programs Department. The Film Programs & Tax Credit Administrator shall be responsible for various administrative duties to support the smooth processing of all film and television programs and the Manitoba Film and Video Production Tax Credit Program as well as assist with the overall administration within the department. 

  • Essential skills include exceptional attention to detail, superior time management, excellent organizational skills and an affinity for client support. The candidate must be fluent in English (proficiency in French is an asset) and be available Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Some knowledge of Manitoba’s film scene is beneficial but not mandatory.

Duties:

  • Learn and provide information on the various film and television programs offered and Tax Credit Program legislation to advise applicants on program details, eligibility and documentation requirements.
  • Receive and track all program applications ensuring completeness.
  • Advise and assist applicants on matters pertaining to their program application(s) and application status.
  • Assist with collection of production paperwork and deliverables as per contractual requirements.
  • Review and post to the MFM website, ensuring current program information and documentation is available.
  • Assist with the creation of film and television program reports.
  • Assist with keeping records and statistics.

Reporting to the Director of Film Financing & Tax Credits, and providing administrative support to the Business Affairs Analyst, Film Programs and the Tax Credit & Deeming Analyst, the Film Programs & Tax Credit Administrator is responsible for assisting with the delivery of Manitoba Film & Music’s Film & Television Funding Programs and the Manitoba Film and Video Production Tax Credit, as follows:

Film program duties include:

  • Advise and assist clients on matters pertaining to MFM’s film & television programs, including eligibility, documentation requirements and application status.
  • Receive, track and digitally archive all film and television program applications ensuring completeness prior to assigning to Business Affairs Analyst, Film Programs for analysis.
  • Receive and maintain archive of production paperwork for productions where MFM has contributed funds to ensure compliance with MFM contractual requirements.
  • Monitor MFM’s supported projects on a continued basis to ensure contract obligations are being met and communicate with applicants as required.
  • Coordinate interim and final reporting deliverables for MFM’s supported projects for review by Business Affairs Analyst, Film Programs.
  • Maintain current film and television program documentation and application information on MFM’s website and online application portal.
  • Maintain digital and physical archive of film productions which MFM has supported.   
  • Maintain contact information of current program applicants, co-producers, production executives, funders, distributors and broadcasters.
  • Coordinate film program department information for MFM board reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Tax credit program duties:

  • Advise and assist clients on matters pertaining to the Manitoba Film and Video Production Tax Credit, including eligibility, documentation requirements and application status.
  • Receive, track and digitally archive all Manitoba Film and Video Production tax credit applications ensuring completeness prior to assigning to Tax Credit & Deeming Analyst for analysis.
  • Advise and assist clients on tax credit program details, eligibility, documentation requirements and application status.
  • Communicate with clients in a timely and consistent manner, to advance the tax credit application process accurately and swiftly.
  • Keep complete and accurate records of all client communication.
  • Maintain current tax credit documentation and application information on MFM’s website and online application portal.
  • Maintain digital and physical archive of film productions.
  • Coordinate, attend and take minutes for tax credit advisory group meetings, national tax credit committee meetings and others as directed.
  • Ensure appropriate records and statistics are complete and accessible for analysis and reporting.
  • Coordinate tax credit application and certificate information for MFM board reports.
  • Identify Manitoba Film and Video Production Tax Credit listings in external digital publications that require updating.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Deeming provision duties:

  • Maintain deeming records and statistics.
  • Coordinate and attend deeming meetings as requested.
